Ball Python Problem........?

Hey everyone, its been a while since I've been around here for those who remember me. Anyways, I'll get to the point, my male ball is mid shed cycle is not flicking his tongue like normal. He is flicking it but it only comes out about half way and sometimes gets stuck. I know these to be symptoms of IBD but there were no mites present and he is not currently showimg other symptoms. My two thoughts are possibly mouth rot or its simply a side effect to his shedding. In the past he has had mouth rot and RO but both were treated by a professional, however if this be mouth rot again are there any home remedies? Please give your knowledge as to what this might be thank you. Please excuse typos as this is from a mobile device.
