Anything I can do to make things progress?

We used to have a fling going..he's recently single & has moved out if house he was living w/ GF. We've been out for drinks a couple of times since and slept together last Tuesday. He says he doesn't want anything serious..he's enjoying his freedom. I fell hard! His bday is in a couple days and I got him a beautiful Izod tie (he wears ties everyday for work) and some shaving cream from bath as body works. I don't know if that was the best gift. I would just like it to turn into something good
