My Budgies eggs are starting to hatch!?

My budgie laid 7 eggs and 2 hatched yesterday and 1 hatched today. I want to tame them properly and someone told you to tame them you have to handle them from when they are chicks. How old do they have to be to start handling them. How long do i have to handle them for? How many times a day? And how to do it. My budgies (parents) don't eat fruit/veg so how can i get the babies to eat fruit and veg. Thanks
