Will my turtle still be okay?

I don't have a basking light for my baby RES and I can't really get one. Instead, I leave it out in the sunlight for an hour or two because I know how much important it is for it to have some UVB. Is it okay if I continue leaving it out in the sunlight or should I try to get a basking light right away. Please answer this one. Thanks :)
