What is obamacare?..............?

I am NOT politically smart so please, I beg you, break it down into stupid-people words for me. I've been working for a nursing home about two months as a CNA. My company offers health insurance after 90 days of employment. I have no idea if it's decent or not. Does everyone in America HAVE to have healthcare? If so, I have a new hatred for the president.
