is this guy gonna ask me out?

so like 2 1/2 weeks ago me my friend jason and my friend katie were hanging out and we were walking to katies house and we were playing truth or dare off and on and katie ask jason who he liked and he took awhile to answer and he said he obviosly liked- (past tense) his ex girlfriend that broke up about a week earlier and then he said he kind of liked me- did he say kind of becuz i was there or becuz he only kind of liked me also he brought up a text that i sent from katies phone saying that i liked him and katie told him that it was real so is he going to ask me out or not
