I just broke up with my boyfriend i need help! im so confused..?

Me and my bf been together for almost 5 yrs, from those 5 yrs 2 yrs we lived together, he left his family and moved in with me he is muslim btw. we had plans of getting married next yr but recently he heard his mom was sick so he left to live with her, and yesterday we were talking and I asked him if we were ever going to get married and he said no if his mom didn't approve. Now I love him w all my heart but I want to get married and have children but I don't want to wait forever for his mom to approve of me I don't need anybody's approval.. So we broke up. N I'm sooo sad I dont know how to deal with this ):
