USB headset with PS3. Mic not working!?

I have a Soundblaster Tactics 3D Sigma headset that I plug into my ps3. I have changed the audio settings to list both output and input as soundblaster USB headset. The sound goes to my headset fine however I get nothing when I try to talk into the mic. The headset works on any other device without flaw. Any suggestions?
