Generalised anxiety disorder?

I've recently been diagnosed with GAD I suffer from depression aswell as I am on medication for that aswell. My anxiety recently has been hard to cope with and I plan to go back to my doctor this week but just wanted to know if medication would help? And I often get excessive sweating on my face over nothing which im sure is to do with me having anxiety problems. Would medication help my sweating aswell ? Thank you
