Cold sore scab, quick healing suggestion?

So let's face it, cold sores suck... A lot. I got one on Monday and basically bombarded it with Abreva until it had scabbed up. I took a shower today and unintentionally washed off the scab. Now I have a red open scab thing where the sore was, what's the most effective and quickest way to heal this up? Or just make it look less red and noticeable?
