I applied to Kmart...when will they call?

2 days ago I applied to Kmart online. I was wondering If they usually call you or will I have to call them? I've never had a job before & all other places I've applied to never responded to me. How long should I wait to call them? Should I call at all? And if I do call....what would I say? Because if they want to hire me....why wouldn't they reach out to me? I just really want this job! Thanks!
