Should my next rifle be an AR-15 or G3?

I have many AKs and a countless handguns. I would like to purchase another long gun. I really like the look of the g3 style rifles and their delayed blowback design. But I also think the ARs are pretty cool and ammo is cheaper. But I don't have much confidence in the .223 mouse round. Which would you buy if you only had $1000 to spend?
