Best college around Stratford On Avon?Should I get an apprenticeship instead?

I don't want to go to sixth form. I don't know why, just some deeply embedded prejudice :p I'm debating either doing an apprenticeship in either the IT/computer science or history field or studying Computer Science, Physics or Maths at college. Now, I'd like to know which college in and around my area is the best, in terms of how friendly people are, the level of work done so how difficult work is, the amount of work done at home etc. If you could tell me whether apprenticeships are superior to going to college and which colleges in my area are the best if college is the way to go.
