I have a new 2013 Citroen C3 1.2 82ps the engine is quite throaty when accelerating in 1st/2nd/3rd gears?

The dealership said this is normal for this model, has it only has three cylinders and not four like my previous C3 which was far quieter. I have also contacted Citroen direct, not very helpful just referd to Dealer. Any advice or info would be appreciated.
