How do I treat my black toenail so I can get rid of it.?

I was playing soccer with my friend, and his cleat accidentally stepped on my toe. When I went to check on it, I ended up with a huge blackish spot on my toe. I don't know what to do. This has never happened to me. How can I treat it. Do I put ice on it, do I eat a certain food, do I put a certain cream on it, do I put something over it when I take a shower? Please help, this is freaking me out! I didn't bleed at all, I just have a huge bruise !!
