I want to dye my hair blonde but...?

So I have dark brown hair, and I really want to have a change so I was thinking of going like a ash/dirty blonde but my boyfriend likes brunettes so I kind of don't want to do it for that reason but his going away for two and will only see me with blonde hair for a few days What should I do!? I can always dye it back to dark brown but I'm not sure I have freckles, green eyes but wear fake tan so you can't tell much And I'm naturally blond Should I try it out??
