My ex suggested a one month no contact break, so why did he ask how I'm doing after one week?

I replied and now I have to start all over again. I decided to say goodnight and block him. I figure if he "really" cared about me and our furthering of this relationship, then he'd do better than that. I plan on moving on, forget him.
