I really like this guy and I don't know what to do, PLEASE HELP!!!?

There is this guy and I really like him and I am not the type of person who usually cares about this stuff and I don't know why this bothers me so much but it does but this guy, he is not the type of person that I would like but it just confuses me!!! He moved to our school in 7th grade from New York and I love accents and he is just perfect to me and I haven't talked to him since 7th grade and in January I talked to him via Facebook messenger and I said I just thought that I would say hey because I haven't talked to you in like 2 years so hey and we had an couple of conversations then I didn't talk to him in like a month and then the other day at school he talked to me! I was a little to excited about that but randomly during bus duty he kept staring at me and my friend said that she often notices him looking at me too and I know what you are thinking oh, that sounds cliche but I swear it happened :D ya see I usually go for the "sweet guys" but he is not one if third well i mean he's sweet but he has this "bad boy" vibe to him and I just don't know what it is but I really like him!! Please help I'm sorry that it was so long but any advice will help:)
