96 f350 powerstroke problem?

I started my truck today , started fine I let it idle and than all of a sudden check engine light came on and it idled real rough . Than engine light turned off And idled normally . It did this about 3 times and than I shut the truck off to try and reset it . It's done this a few times however it happens last year which was once in a 3 month gap . I think it would be a sensor problem but I'm not sure . I've had the cam sensor changed out before I bought it but could it be another sensor ? Reply please thanks
