Question #6300237

Qualifying for unemployment if you quit...?

I started an admin job a few months ago and was not told at my interview or when offered the job that some lifting on a daily basis would be required. I have bulging discs which have been really causing me back pain since starting this job. I could probably get disability but I don't consider myself disabled - I just cannot do work that requires lifting. I cannot stay at this job for this reason so I'm wondering if I can quit and collect unemployment until I find another job? Not sure if it matters, but I live in NY.
