Dark red scars after tonsillectomy?

Hi, i am on day 6 after my tonsillectomy and today one of the white scabs fell off. It revealed another dark red/black scab. Did the white scab fall off too quickly? What color is it supposed to be underneath when the white scab falls off? I don't think dark red is the right color? Regards
