What is credible equilibrium - Game Theory ~~~?

How to define, or better still, test a credible equilibrium in the context of game theory? Is it related to dominant strategy or pure strategy (what is the difference)? Does it matter if it is played in normal, simultaneous form or sequential form? Please explain.
