How do I go about doing this?

we are both in college. I got his number today and I want to know some things. I want to know why he is shy around me and if he likes me. It hasnt been a month since we met but we talk everytime we see eachother. he is also nervous when he talks to me and stuff but not when friends are around. ok so the problem is that he is shy. How do I go about wording these questions in a text? im to nervous to do it in person. i I want to move on if he doesnt like me you know
