Is it ok to oil my savannah monitor ? Because he've a very dry skin?

My savannah monitor always have a problem with his dry skin it's always slicing always always every day , So I oiled it today with olive oil is it ok ? Or there's something beter ? We don't have in my country any special oil for reptails , so I want something natural and I made it by my self ???
