How long do you wait before you read another book (that's not part of a series)?

I love books, but after I finish reading one, especially if I've just finished a series, I like to break a few days break before reading another book. I guess it's because of the connection I had with the characters and I'm not ready to leave them yet, if that makes sense. Does anyone else feel like that? How long do you wait between reading books? Especially if you've just finished a series.
