My crush told me my perfume is the same as his grandma's :(?

Yeah, I know, ouch. He asked me what scent I was wearing and I expected a compliment but then he blurts this one out lol. I changed it of course. And I laughed it off at the time but I'm a bit freaked he thinks I have "old lady" taste in scents. Is this a big deal or is there still a chance he likes me even though I used to smell like his grandma lol ?
