Need help buying a serious telescope!?

I am planning to buy a good telescope. Not the amateur ones. The seriously serious telescopes which give you a lot more than just a view of the moon. I know there isn't a perfect one out there as all of them have some trade off, please suggest a good one. My budget is $2000 (around INR 1 lakh). Some help on focal length and all the parameters would be of help. Thanks :)
