Clannad after story questions?

1. Why is it called clannad? 2. Would the ending have been better if just ushio lived and tomoya raised her, possibly remarrying kyou. (I personally would've liked this ending better) 3. What did you think of clannad vs the after story, which was better(personally I like the after story).
