Is it worth to get an APU instead buying separate GPU and CPU?

Hi guys APU (Accelerated Processing unit)...................... I'm looking at the AMD CPU because they are better than Intel and cheaper but what CPU will you recommend for me????I heard that APU is like a 2 in 1 chip that has a graphical processor and a CPU ......what will be the equivalent of the graphics of the AMD A10 6800K????? ( like A6 APU=AMD radeon 7850 just example) so is it worth to get an APU or buy a separate GPU and CPU?????? and if theirs something better than AMD A10 6800K just tell me......
