did i take care of this virus?

i went on my avg free software on my laptop and updated it. i emptied the the virus vault on my avg software. after i updated it i checked the scans and it said i had no viruses. i did this because on one of my users on my computer was blocked by nsa internet surveillance program virus. i emptied the the virus vault on my avg software. will i be able to use my other user on my computer.
