Question #10700075

Can my employer ask my university about my grades/enrolment status?

Hey guys, I am a part time student worker at a big bank in Canada, but I am wondering if my employer could ever call up my university about grades or any other status they can think of? The employment is contingent on grades and full time enrolment at university, but right now I took a leave of absence for 1 semester (I HAVE to go to my parents homeland for a few months). My grades meet the criteria, but ofcourse the leave of absence is sort of a burden on me right now. So I am just wondering, does my employer have the right to ask my university about my enrolment? Obviously they can directly ask me, but I am just wondering if a university could ever give out an information like that. Thanks for the help.
