Should I take the day off work for him?

My boyfriend and I just had to go long distance for college and his mom is coming up to see him for a night. I know its a bit irrational to suddenly want to go but I miss him and someone from here is going right there to see him. Only problem is she is going when I work, but honestly right now my work is cutting my hours like nothing, I'm set financially that I could endure the pay cut, and once school starts for me I am set. On top of that I intend to transfer schools soon which most likely means I'll only be at this job for another 3 or 4 months. I guess the point I'm getting at is I have been taking leaving my boyfriend behind in his new college town pretty hard and now I have this chance for one more night with him and as some people say somethings are more important than money and personally I think he is one of them. So do I take the day off work, call in sick or do I go? :/
