How can I cross reference two groups of locations and obtain data such as maximum and minimum distances etc?

So I have several locations split into two groups, group A and group B. What I want to do is cross reference the two groups to obtain some data. In particular I'd like to see which single location in group A is the furthest from ANY location in group B. And which single location in group A is the closest to ANY location in group B. What would be the best method or software to do this (for 100 or so locations)? Thanks, James
