Why does my radio have static?

Everytime i turn on my radio and increase the volume its as if the radio just spits out the music with slobber everywhere it sounds horrible but when i put the aux in it sounds clean so whats wrong? pleasee please tell me whats wrong and how i can fix it! thank u so much! and also my car doesnt have a radio antenna could that be it?
