Question #10700407

What may be causing my vivid dreams/nightmares?

Throughout my life I rarely dreamed, only recently I have been experiencing vivid, horrible dreams. They occur typically 2-3 times a week and usually involve family and people from my life and I always wake up with a terrible headache. This morning, for instance, I dreamed that I was abducted from my house and while I was fighting one of the men he stabbed my hand and I physically felt the pain. This was the first time I felt pain during a dream, but they seem to be getting more and more real to the point of feeling anxious during the day. I am 25 year old female who has no history of mental health issues or diagnosis, i do not take any daily medications, and Really do not have anything to worry about in my personal life. I have read several things about dreams being supressed thoughta, this and that, but none of it makes sense to me because I would never want these things to happen and I have never experienced such things. Any information would be helpful, thanks.
