how to approach a stranger?

well im 16 and every morning when i walk to the school bus i see this really hot guy who looks about my age. we always make eye contact but weve done no more than a teeny weeny smile. i want to find out more about him or speak to him or whatever - any ideas of subtle ways to do this or any ideas at all?!?!? thank you xx
