Question #10900175

Is it okay that I have friends that care more than my own sister?

I come from a tight knit Latin family, and I do love them all very much. However, despite my best efforts, my sister has decided for the last years to completely disregard me in all aspects. She doesn't seem to care for me to have any part in her life. Ive come to accept it, and I did let her know I still wish her the best and love her, though I don't expect her to want to be friends. I know that perhaps one day she'll see what she could be missing by overlooking the loyalty and friendship we could have. After all, when she was too ashamed to come to her 'best friends' for advice and admit her wrong doings, I was her shoulder to cry on... I have a few very good friends that I DO consider best friends--- don't judge me and have seen me through tough times... Am I wrong to not care at this point. Should I at some point persist a better relationship with my sister. I do say hi to her, and I won't blatantly ignore her if she's at my parents', but that's about it. I don't want to grovel for attention or love. Sooo not me, but am I wrong for thinking this??? Any thoughtful (respectful) advice will be well taken.
