Question #10950111

Is there any point for me to apply to UC colleges?

I have a 3.7 GPA, my SAT score is 2240, and I've received some good feedback on my personal statement from many of my English teachers. However, I did not take any extracurricular activities throughout my high school years. There have been MANY college representatives from UC campuses that have come to my high school to talk to the students and they're always stressing how important extracurricular activities are in the admissions process. My school counselors have done the same thing as well. Also, some people have told me that since I do not have any extracurricular activities, it will be an instant rejection from any UC I apply to. Before I heard about all of this, I was planning on applying to a bunch of UC campuses, but now I'm thinking I should just go to community college instead because I do not want to waste $400+ on applications to UCs just to get a guaranteed rejection. So, are all of these people absolutely right in what they have told me? Or do you think I have any chance at all?
