Is religious fundamentalism declining?

I'm not sure Progressive religion/spirituality is succeeding much, but I don't much of religious fundamentalism and fanaticism as powerful as it was 10 or 20 years ago. They may not like it or admit, but fundamentalists are losing and they're not going to get their wish of bring society back to a Theocratic, oppressive dystopia (and I say that as a liberal Christian).
