Switching phones on straight talk?

My phone lately has been turning off constantly so straight talk is sending me a new phone. I first have to send my current phone back before I will get my new one. I don't want to lose all my pictures, apps, contacts, etc. I know I can transfer my apps and calender information over through my google account. I then planned on writing down all my contacts and putting my pictures on my computer to put back on my new phone. Is there an easier way to do this, or should I just do what I said above? Thanks in advance!
