Thinking i might become a mechanic?

After i get my ged i plan on doing a 2 year degree for auto mechanics. Is it a really hard job? What is it like to be a mechanic? Would you say its a stressful job? And if i put the work in will i be getting a decent salary? And do you think 2 years degree will have me prepared to do most basic stuff on the job. And any other stuff you would of liked to know when you became a mechanic.
