What do i need to do to get my Need for Speed Carbon game working on my hp computer?

when I put in need for speed carbon into my hp touchsmart310 pc it wont start, it just says to insert disk. i cant install it yet because the message keeps coming up to insert cd. it doesnt come up automatically. or is it just because its to old or something?
