Blood clots for 5 days?

Sorry for tmi. My period last 5-6 days and its.always heavy, with blood clots and cramps. Its been this way after I had my c section 3 years ago. I also have not been able to.get pregnant since then. Sometimes during my period I experience stabbing pain especially when I use the restroom. I'm making an appointment this week but has anyone.experienced this?
