Question #11050286

Lump on side of neck?

My fiance has had a sort of lump on the right side of her neck for about a year now. I'm not an expert with anatomy so bear with me. If you were to raise your hands and grab the sides of your neck with your thumbs faced down, there almost seems to be some form of tube on each side. So on the right side, directly in front of that tube, directly under the chin, there is a lump. Another way of explaining where it is located would be if you were to touch the center of your chin, slide back to your throat and slide to the right until you touch that tube that previously mentioned, right in that cavity. It wasn't so noticeable at first and I mentioned that she may just be overlooking it. I believe that if you press deep enough, everyone has sort of a lump in that area on both sides of the neck. A year later though, you can actually see the lesion. and today I believe it is actually extending, otherwise there is another one behind her ear. There is also one above her right collar bone. It could be 'nodes'? but I am unsure. We have no insurance and little money, but we are taking her to the doctors tomorrow anyway. Do you know what this may be? Any idea?
