How to get a serving job without experience?

So I have worked at 2 sit down restaurants and was a server for a catering company for almost 6 years. I was togo, busser, food runner, and host at the sit downs. I feel like I have the combined skills to be a server. Since I can learn tables quick, am good with people, learn menus easily and all of that. Is there a trick to getting a serving job or do I pretty much need to wait to be promoted?
