what does it mean when he says we might get back together ?

Me and my ex have been seperated for about a month now but when w broke up he kept stressing that we ,right get back together and we are REALLY close friends. And when we talk to each other he shares personal life experiences and has even CRIED in front of me. We even became close to him taking my virginity but the thought of him just wanting to get in my pants kept lurking.. he is my first love and I break my neck to make him happy and he appreciates it.. I just want to know if he really means what he said, or is he leading me on ?
