How do you start fun conversations?

For people who are really talkative or have overcome their fear of being shy, I'd like to get some advice/input from you about how to start a fun conversation and keep it interesting weather it's texting someone or in person. I am actually a really shy person, not good at all with having fun conversations. I have actually gotten A LOT better with being shy & quiet, I look normal now to say the least.. Before I would sit alone and not talk to anyone, basically just hide away. Now, I look normal and talk a lot more, just a lot louder in general. My question here today is how do you start a fun conversation via texting!? How do you start one, keep it going, all of that! I am a really boring texter and need help.. ._. Plus, if you're texting a boring texter or a shy person, they won't really get into the convo. How do you keep that going and get them comfortable?
