engineer Q -what is the best soil type to build structures on?

what is the most suitable soil type (e.g ferrosol, kurosol) to build large heavy structures on such as a powerline base? Can you please provide reasons? or alternatively suggest which soils would be worst (such as vertosol with its expanding and shrinking structure which would make tower lopsided over time.. or a sodosol which creates tunnel erosion) please help!!!
