why do the lines between the tiles in my bathroom disappear?

I have noticed recently that when i stare at my tile floor the lines will start to disappear. then i tried the same thing on my wall in my bedroom and the doors would start to disappear or be the same color as the wall. is this normal or is there something wrong with me?
