original mtg vs original mtg plus?

I want to grow my geldings mane and I wanted to know if original mtg plus works as well as the original mtg.( also if it was worth the money :) ) My gelding is a Appaloosa so I know it may not help a ton but I have hope! :) if you have any other tips for growing his mane and tail out please help! Thanks
